Father’s Day weekend marks my moment in the spotlight, and I can hardly wait. My normal day is spent grazing, enjoying the mountain sunshine, and carrying my rider where she wants to go, but once a year, when The Evergreen Rodeo Parade begins, I am thrust into my most important role of the year. I will be washed, brushed, and decked out to draw a beautiful carriage in the parade. My corral mate will be carrying Miss Evergreen Rodeo, and he is simply thrilled to be given the honor. We are faithful steeds, as is typical of our kind, and we look forward each year to rodeo weekend in Evergreen. Up to 100 marching bands, floats, horses, carriages, antique cars and farm equipment pass by the lake and through downtown Evergreen. Local friends join with entries from the entire Front Range. We’ll be looking for you!
